Marilyn Roybal is a fiber and mixed media artist based in San Diego, with New York City as a muse and recurring subject. Synesthesia guides her use of a highly saturated color palette. Using piecing, embroidery, and appliqué, she builds her quilts and dimensional textile forms with small fragments of fabric, much like painting, to create movement and depth.
